Complete Description

Responsible for daily operations and scheduling of the Pharmacy. Contributes to the initiation and implementation of new programs or processes that provide efficient use of medications and efficient processing of medication orders. Supervises pharmacists, technicians, and senior technicians. Acts as the department liaison regarding operational issues with other hospital departments. Responsible for the 24-hour service in the absence of the Director and acts on the behalf of the Director when so assigned.

Pharm D preferred.

Minimum of 5 years experience as a hospital pharmacist. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience and ability to supervise pharmacists and technicians with regards to overall operations, clinical functions, and QI efforts. Experience with the initiation and development of new programs. Basic knowledge and experience in clinical pharmacy. Significant experience interacting directly with physicians for purposes of education and/or information exchange. Working knowledge of Quality Improvement Process. Excellent customer service skills required.

Current registration and licensure in California as a pharmacist.
