The Food Services Worker assists in the preparation, distribution and service of patient and employee meals. He/she is responsible for the preparation and portioning of salads, desserts, beverages and special patient snacks. The Food Services Worker is responsible for the set up and breakdown of cafeteria food and supplies at each meal and functions as the steam table server throughout the meal period. Works the meal service by washing dishes and trays and storing them for future use. The Food Services Worker assembles daily nourishment orders and transports them to patient areas as required. The Food Services Worker also maintains and cleans all food preparation equipment used throughout the day and participates in special cleaning projects as assigned. He/she exhibits knowledge of appropriate food handling techniques and general rules of sanitation. The Food Services Worker is responsible for attending appropriate in-service sessions as presented in the department. High School diploma or equivalent pref'd. On-the-job training. Excellent customer service skills required. Serve Safe Certification pref'd.
