Responsible for operating, inspecting, repairing, maintaining of the hospital & boiler plant, auxiliary equipment, emergency generators/switchgear, and related process equipment. Performs job functions of Facilities Maintenance Mechanic I.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Three years in boiler or hospital operation and equipment repair. Intermediate knowledge of pump repair, brazing, electrical troubleshooting, hvac equipment boiler operation, plumbing and blueprint reading. Knowledge of boilers, chillers, absorbers, cooling towers, pumps, computers and hospital related equipment. Intermediate computer skills. Excellent customer service skills required.
Must have an Unlimited or 500 HP Los Angeles Steam Engineer license or EPA 608 Universal license within 6 months of hire. Valid California driver`s license. Must be 21 years of age or older; must have two (2) years of continuous driving experience in the state of California. If a license is suspended, the experience record begins from the time of license reinstatement; must have no major convictions (ie DUI/DWI, hit and run, driving w/suspended license, reckless driving, eluding police, open containers, exhibition of speed (racing), negligent driving); must have no more than one (1) moving citation in a three (3) year period; must have no more than one (1) at- fault accident in a three (3) year period. Accidents will be considered at- fault unless evidence is provided (ie police report and/or letter from insurance company) showing the incident as not at-fault.
