Complete Description

The Registered Nurse MICN is responsibile for mobile intentive care nursing, performing the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients with perceiveed, actual or potential, sudden or urgent, physical or psychosocial problems that are primarily episodic or acute and that occur in a variety of settings. These may require minimal care of life support measures, patient and signficiant other education, appropriate referral, and knowledge of legal implications. emergency patients may be neonatal, ediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric with diagnosed, undiagnosed or misdiagnosed problems of varying coplexity.

Two-day EDAP approved course within 6 months of employmentand eight (8) hours of pediatric emergency care required for those working at QVC.

Current RN license in the State of California. BLS required. ACLS and PALS Certification required within 3 months of hire date. AB 508 certification required upon hire. MAB required within 30 days of hire or by the next available class. Incumbents have until 4/1/15 to obtain the training.Certification is renewed annually (cert. expires end of the month in which training takes place). MICN required. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification "A" required within 3 months of hire/transfer for those working at QVH. CEN preferred.
