The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for leading in the designing, implementing and supporting voice and data networks and their related components including local area networks, wireless networks, wide area networks, internet connectivity, remote connectivity, VPN connections and a variety of other network and security solutions to support CVHP security requirements, CVHP business requirements, and HIPAA regulations. This role provides onsite and remote support to internal and external customers while working both independently and as part of agile teams to lead, support, and resolve service desk tickets, analyze and resolve technical issues, address technical escalations, and work on team related projects.
The incumbent must have exceptional technical troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and a strong, relevant understanding of a variety of enterprise systems while demonstrating the skills required to secure and manage network infrastructures, increase productivity, mitigate threats, and reduce costs.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, other relevant field, or equivalent experience preffered. Relevant Technology and/or Security Certification (Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft, VMWare) preferred. ITIL Certification or strong knowledge of ITIL best practices preferred.
Ten or moreyears of Sr.Network Engineer experience in a Healthcare environment preferred. In-depth knowledge of network operating systems, cyber-security best practices, and HIPAA regulations. In-depth understanding of voice/data communication and routing protocols. In-depth experience with network diagnostics, monitoring and analysis. In-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Objects and Containers. Excellent customer service required.
Must be proficient in WAN/LAN/WLAN Architecture, L2 & L3 Routing & Switching, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, Firewalls/Security, Data Load Balancing, Citrix Virtualization Technologies, and Scripting (Batch Files, Visual Basic, PowerShell, etc.).
